We just found this out today. It doesn't matter that we use a bonded and
insured agent to transfer our tapes to offsite storage. We need to encrypt
any tapes we send offsite.

I know that there were and hopefully are still SCSI encryption devices that
will work on ultra SCSI (N-Class DLT 8000) tapes. Does anyone have real
experience with using these?

I also know that there are other encryption options. However we currently
use TurboStore Online 7x24 and the best options would work in concert with
HP's standard backup software. Changing to an alternative backup software
would require considerable effort. Whatever we implement will be required
on multiple tape drives on multiple servers.

Your responses will be appreciated!
