We had a system halt today. No dump because we needed it up right away.
After it came back up I lost recently added printers via IOCONFIG. I've never seen that happen before. I thought that part of the system would be in stable storage or written to a file.
Any ideas what happened?
Second, I said there was no dump. It was a judgment call, as the last time I attempted to take a dump to a DDS3 it took several hours and even after that, the dump failed. We needed to come up quickly.
Maybe I'm just ignorant, but is there a procedure where the dump can be taken disc-to-disc and stored to tape later?
