The command REPORT xxx.@;onvs=  is very useful to understand how the
accounts and groups are set up across volumesets.

The listgroup will show on which volumeset the group resides.  Once the
group is created on a specific volume set and you start adding files to it,
you can't change it.  Well, you can but the files will not move from one
volumeset to the other, they will simply become inaccessible and simply take
up space on the original volume set.

So it's best to create the structure that you want first, creating the
accounts in the directory of the user volumeset as needed and then creating
the groups on that volumeset.  Once that is set up the way you want you can
then restore the files and they will go where they need to be.  

A STORE with ONVS and DIRECTORY option is a good thing to have going forward
so you can recreate the volumeset directory.

then my money is on problem with how accts and groups were set up, as Mark
reminded us - it takes two NEWACCT/NEWGROUP commands, one for the
"directory" entry and one for the PRIVATE^H^H^H^H^H USER volume (whith
ONVS-arg).
But, of course, that depends on how they were set up (manual, or whith
BULDACCT/BULDJOB1/BULDJOB2 or ;CREATE option of RESTORE (if that's
possible)) ...
