That, to me, looks like a TERM mismatch. Freevt3k only really handles
the VT network traffic, and assumes you have an HP terminal that
understands HP escape codes, etc.
What is your TERM environment variable set to on your LINUX box?
You might try
set TERM=hp
and see what happens.
Terminal control in UNIX started out as, and will always be, a
godawful ugly kludge of a solution .. but looks like that's your
problem from what I can see.
