HP provided one patch for us that prevented corruption of KSAM64 files.
Sorry, but I don't have the details of the patch (when and what etc).

We also noticed a considerable performance penalty adding records to
KSAM64 files as they got larger and larger.

Subject: [HP3000-L] KSAM64

Can anyone tell me if there are any issues with KSAM64 files that exceed
4GB in file size?

I know there are/were issues with large TurboIMAGE files.

Do the same or other problems exist with KSAM64 files.

My customer is about to reach the 4GB limit on the existing KSAMXL file
and wants to know whether creating a larger KSAM64 file will present any
problems.

Thanks.
