Hi Wayne,

> Does anyone know of a Service that will read DLT IV tapes or convert them to some other usable format on a Windows platform or HP9000 Integrity server? Most of the data files are Turbo Image database files. I haven't checked with HP, but we have no service contract with them anymore, other than time and materials. Simply put, these are for archival purposes only.

Our Rosetta product, http://www.allegro.com/?page_id=437 , runs on HP-UX
(email about other platforms), and can restore files and IMAGE databases
from TurboSTORE backup tapes into usable files on an HP-UX system.

For example, IMAGE databases are restored into new Eloquence databases
(check out Marxmeier's Eloquence database at http://eloquence.marxmeier.com/ ),
or into XML files, or into comma separated value files, or as raw binary files.
(Or, you can write a "filter" in C and we'll call it with each record from
each dataset.)

Also, ASCII files can be restored "raw", or with newlines after every record
(optionally stripping trailing blanks first).

Also, KSAM XL and CM KSAM files have their valid entries extracted and saved to disk.

Rosetta reads tapes (including 9-track, DDS, and DLT) and STORE-to-disk files.

And, if you wish, we're happy to talk to you about doing this as a service, providing
(for example) DVDs with the restored files.
