Unwanted duplex on Laserjet P3015 from HP 3000

Replaced a Laserjet 5100 (sigh) with a P3015.

Two reports using PCL were duplexing...never happened
on any older laserjets. One other report printed simplex just fine.

I solved the problem by turning duplex off at the top of each page. (Esc l0S)

The internal setting on the printer is duplex off.
The 5100 was using an external JetDirect, whereas the P3015 had an embedded JetDirect.

Wonder why that happened?
