Ok, but it's not the same thing at all.  In this case, HP expended a great deal of money and assorted resources coming very late to the party with an offering what was no better than what was already there.  In my view they offered nothing new or innovative.

What amazes me is the speed at which they realized they had messed up and pulled the plug on this fiasco, rather than drag it out.

Reminds me of what Techtronix did many years ago.  They wanted to come up with the best terminal and invested a pile of money, then cancelled it when someone else came out with a better one.
