I think it is a work around

Set time
set time cancel
set time again with NOW option

I do know it does work.

I am looking at this file right now and I have to say that whatever
it does is not obvious to me.  Is there something about how the
timezone adjustment in SETCLOCK works that influences the hardware
clock?
