Ctrl-T/V works for me even if I telnet from HP-UX to MPE.
Good luck finding the culprit (freevt3k, ssh, xterm, linux).
As for documentation, Help is always there as in "Help commands,modify,splice". If you don't remember all the keywords, simply type help and select from the keyword list at each level.

That is exactly what I thought worked, but it does not behave that
way on my version of QEdit (5.1). When I press <ctrl>t followed by
<ctrl>v I get the same result as if I had simply pressed <ctrl>v.
The line is split at the cursor position.
I am talking to the HP via FreeVT3K on a remote Linux box that I
connect to over an SSH connection from an XTerm window, so I wonder
if the <ctrl>t is being eaten somewhere along the way.
