Larry,

Memory is fading but DEVCTRL.MPEXL.TELESUP (?) should work fine,
especially with say 6.5 or 7.0 or 7.5. That is I know that code was in
place in the tape driver to implement that SCSI mode page settings and
they were passed to the device for firmware to act upon. I recall that
in later generation tapes (LTO/Ultrium for sure) that tape firmware
started apparently ignoring these directives though -- that is during
testing we could not perceive any difference in performance or tape
capacity with this on or off. YMMV.

Subject: [HP3000-L] DLT8000 1/9 Autoloader

Hello-

Does anyone know how to disable compression on a DLT8000 1/9 Autoloader?
On the stand-alone model, there is a button on the panel. However the
Autoloader does not have an option via the front panel. We are using
Orbit's Backup Plus and we want to disable compression.

Thanks!
