Well, it has been a few years since I looked into this, but there was enough of a port
of OpenSSH at one time to actually get SCP to work if the 3000 was the client side, you
authenticated from the keyboard, and overlooked the slightly odd behavior of the
authentication process (linefeeds generated as you type in the password). But yes, it
would work.

Samba had a lot more functionality, but it is a decade behind "current" functionality.
