Ok I've changed my criteria somewhat. My LOGOFF section now reads:

keyword set 0
$TIMEOUT 7200
$USERS INCLUDE @.TDW-MGR.TDW-JAB.TDW-AMH.TDW-PLR.TDW-KAL.TDW
$PROGRAMS EXCLUDE [log in to unmask]@ [log in to unmask]@ [log in to unmask]@ [log in to unmask]@ [log in to unmask]@
$SELECT "HPSESCOUNT > 50"
EXCLUDE DS SESSIONS, INCLUDE LAN SESSIONS
$MESSAGE "!!! You were logged off due to inactivity !!!"
$WARNTIME 600
$WARNMESSAGE "!!! You will soon be logged off due to inactivity !!!"

What I hope I've accompished here is "if there are more than 50 sessions on
the system, then users in the .TDW account, except for a few, should be
aborted after 2 hours of idle time, unless they are running TR442, TR101,
TR100, MA500, or MA270". (I have 2 additional rulesets that shrink the
TIMEOUT window as more sessions are active, with all other parameters being
the same).

So now let's look at this snippet of output from MAIN.PUB.VESOFT,STATUS:

Yes, showing this user is excluded as it should be.

Hmm ... didn't I exclude [log in to unmask]@? So why doesn't this have a "P" in the
status column (indicating doesn't satisfy the $PROGRAMS inclusion criteria?)
