As I told Tracy yesterday, we have seen this as a result of ICMP redirects
coming from a router.  He may want to check the console for the message...

   ** NETXPORT IP : NETWORK PROBLEM; Gateway redirects severe

But you will only see this on the console if the number of redirects exceeds
90 per second.

From Wikipedia...

    The Redirect Message is an ICMP message which informs a host to update
its routing information (to send packets on an alternate route).

I believe I've seen this sort of behaviour as the result of duplicate ip
addresses on the network.

Difficult to identify.

One way is to shut down a device and see if its ip address is still
ping'able.
