Is the system able to come up with the volume sets mounted?

Or does the system abort trying to mount the volume sets?

In any case, the FSCHECK utility will normally work with mounted volume sets.

The command(s) you would want would be those beginning with "CHECK".

However, I see that some of its commands can reference ldev no., so 
perhaps it can query unmounted volume sets.
