I have a requirement to produce xml files from our Image databases.
On the HP3000 we have Cognos Powerhouse products plus whatever ships
as part of the MPE/iX FOS.

I have gotten a prototype xml generator working in QTP but it is a
kludge. I define each xml tag and contents as a DEFINE and then
write each out to a separate SUBFILE aliased to a single MPE file
name via the INCLUDE statement. This approach rapidly runs out of
steam for complex data sets due to the restriction that QTP can only
reference a maximum of 31 subfiles per request.

So I need an alternative approach. Either some guidance on a more
sophisticated use of QTP or QUIZ, although I cannot see how QUIZ
would work. Or, some alternative method of generating xml files
from Image databases.

Oh yes, this is part of the off-migration so there is no money to
acquire new tools for the HP3000.

Any ideas?
