The best way to print them(as I remember) is to use a spool copy
command. This leaves the original file in case you need to print it
again. I do not remember the syntax(sin tax LOL).

You can purge the file.

Been a while since I worked on an HP3000.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Mpe: Spoolfiles with STATE=SPSAVE

Hello Everyone,

General Question regarding spoolfiles with STATE=SPSAVE.

:listspf (6924,6925) is able to locate and list spoolfiles that have a
STATE=SPSAVE

SPOOLID JOBNUM FILEDES PRI COPIES DEV STATE RSPFN OWNER

#O6924     S3986    TEST       8      1 625      SPSAVE  S    GEORGE.DEV
#O6925     S3986    TEST       8      1 625      SPSAVE  S    GEORGE.DEV

INPUT SPOOL FILES OUTPUT SPOOL FILES
ACTIVE   = 0;                CREATE   = 0;              READY    = 0;
OPEN     = 0;                DEFER    = 0;              SELECTED = 0;
READY    = 0;                DELPND   = 0;              SPSAVE   = 2;
                             PRINT    = 0;              XFER     = 0;
                             PROBLM   = 0;

TOTAL IN FILES   = 0;        TOTAL OUT FILES   = 2;
      IN SECTORS = 0;              OUT SECTORS = 32;

However, to print spoolfiles with a STATE=SPSAVE, we have to fully
qualify
the file as follows:

XL:spoolf o6924;print
          ^
Non-existent file. (CIWARN 4803)
XL:
XL:spoolf o6924.out.hpspool;print
XL:

Why does the spoolf command require a fully qualified filename for files
with a
STATE=SPSAVE and listspf does not?

If the spoolfile was not created or printed with the SPSAVE option, a
fully
qualified filename is not required by the SPOOLF command.

Thank You,

Todd N-haus
