To use an autoloader on the HP3000 as an autoloader, you must set the device
to be out of random mode and then enable autoeject with DEVCTRL.
Certance was a spin off from Seagate in 2003 and was acquired by Quantum in
2004. I went to the Quantum web site to get the manual on this device but
the entire Quantum web site is down, temporarily unavailable. Maybe I
didn't get the memo and Quantum left for China during the night, I guess
anything to get out of Kalifornia.
I think this is what you need:
www.quantum.com/ServiceandSupport/SoftwareandDocumentationDownloads/DAT72Dri
ves/Index.aspx
If the website ever comes back.

Subject: [HP3000-L] dat72 autoloader
I have a Certance DAT72 autoloader, model no. CDL 432 configured on
an HP3000 and have no problems reading from and writing to the unit.
What I am having difficulty with is trying to automatically load the
next tape from the 6-slot magazine.
Trying the DEVCTRL.MPEXL.TELESUP command with varying parameter
values has not been fruitful. (Specifically, DEVCTRL.MPEXL.TELESUP 8
EJECT=ENABLE LOAD=ONLINE)
Also, looking at the dip switches available do not appear to offer
any obvious solutions there (I don't see a switch associated with the
stacker or random mode operation).
Does anyone have any experience with this model of autoloader or any
suggestions as to how I can configure it so I can issue a command to
load the next tape in the magazine ?
Thanks.
