SYSTEM ABORT #1328 FROM SUBSYSTEM #110 (Clock/Timers Manager)
PDC TOD write failed.
SECONDARY STATUS: INFO = #-1103, SUBSYSTEM = #110 (Clock/Timers
Manager)
PDC set time of day call returned with an error; the time of day is
invalid.
System time is maintained as a differential between the time set in the
hardware clock (this is GMT time and is set via the CLKUTIL program at the
ISL prompt) and the system time (this is typically the local time where the
system is located, and is set at the DATE and TIME prompts during system
boot).
The System Abort #1328 results when an error occurs as the system code
attempts to write the differential value (offset) to a hardware register. The
most common time to see this failure is if there has been a power outage, and
the system is then re-booted.
Typically the cause is an incorrect value in the hardware clock, but it may
also occur if bad values are entered for local date and time. The hardware
clock may be wrong if the battery used to maintain the clock is dead, or there
is some other hardware problem.
To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
Re-boot the system to the ISL> prompt, and run CLKUTIL .
Use CLKUTIL to modify the hardware clock date and time to the current GMT
time.
Perform a START NORECOVERY and enter the local time.
