Yes, you can use FINFO for that - here's an example...

!COMMENT  Check to see if 72HR file exists (INPUT72.DATA)

!   LISTF INPUT72.DATA,2
!ELSE
!   EMAILFIL [log in to unmask] FTPFAIL.PUB 72HR_FILE_MISSING - this just
e-mails a message out

I seem to recall there is a command called FINFO that will do this for
you.  I recall it is part of the RISC OS, but maybe it is an MPEX only.
