Ian Warner asks:

I wish to change the settings on a 100BT card to remove autonegotiation. Do
the settings take effect when I validate the change or when I stop/start the
network?
---
You need to stop all networking, then restart networking. That's the safest
and 'to be sure' way. You might be able to do a

NETCONTROL NET=LAN1;UPDATE=ALL

(for example, using LAN1 as the target network) but I've always stopped and
restarted networking.
