You can imagine what it was like to grow up the son of an English teacher.
She taught other subjects including music, however English (and proper
English at that) was and still is always a priority.

I remember being about twelve at the time... I was told I had "dangling
participles."

I looked down, looked back up and said "I'm supposed to!"

Seriously though, I knew the difference - I just wanted to be a smart
arse....
