I think that is a bit much, my understanding is that Omnidex suggests that a re-index gets done, whenever 20% of the records have been added or deleted to a dataset. (for performance reasons).
So if you have 1 million accounts and 200,000 got added or deleted last week, then go for it.
While once a week maybe much, I really like it when I hear...
"When was the last time you re-indexed?"

"How do you do that?"
I know they are going to see some performance improvements. :-)
