I am sure this can be accomplished with MPEX (But from reading your post may
not be what is required here), you could either use the CHLOGON from within
the MPEX shell, but interestingly they also had the GOON option which
allowed processes to be launched in the background, Very Cool

If you're an MPEX user, you may already have all you need.
I don't recall the syntax, but it has some kind of "change logon"
command you can use to do what you want.
