Red Hat has a tool that collects massive configuration that is primarily
used by support, but may meet your needs.
This tool is called 'sysreport' or current version for RHEL-4.6 and RHEL-5.0
is sosreport.
HP has a tool called snapshot that collects most of the same data in an html
format.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Unix Question (Is that on topic or Off?)
Hi All :)
Ok... I have 7 RedHat Linux Boxes (Yes, count them 7 ... all mine to
make do as I please hehehehe)
I want to create a "configuration documentation record" of these
boxes... any recommendations of scripts that do this? Programs (note:
need to be free and usable by a Linux Wimp)
