I think I am having a problem with a CD-ROM drive inside the main case of my HP3000.
When running ODE/MAPPER I come up with:
I/O Configuration:
Type HW SW Revisions
Path Component Name ID Mod Mod Hdwr Firm
---------- ----------------------------------- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
52.2.0 TOSHIBA5401TA CD-ROM drive - - - - 1036
During a START NORECOVERY, I get the following disturbing messages:
Entering - System I/O configuration.
The path 52.2.0 was configured but is not available.
SYSTEM I/O AT BOOT TIME
ldev: 522 HPA1999A configured not-available 52.2.0
Warning - Volume is not available for mounting. The ldev is 522
Successfully launched Optical Media Manager process.
15:26/47/No Optical device, Optical Media Manager process terminated
This is the way it is configured in SYSGEN:
PATH: 52.2 LDEV:
ID: PSEUDO TYPE: DA
PMGR: TRANSPARENT_MGR PMGRPRI: 6
LMGR: MAXIOS: 0
PATH: 52.2.0 LDEV: 522
ID: HPA1999A TYPE: DISC
PMGR: SCSI_DISC_DM PMGRPRI: 8
LMGR: LOGICAL_DEVICE_MANAGER MAXIOS: 0
LDEV: 522 DEVNAME: OUTDEV: 0 MODE:
ID: HPA1999A RSIZE: 128 DEVTYPE: DISC
PATH: 52.2.0 MPETYPE: 4 MPESUBTYPE: 2
CLASS: DISC
one last thing:
PUB.SYS:showdev 522
LDEV AVAIL OWNERSHIP VOLID DEN ASSOCIATION
522 DISC N/A
PUB.SYS:
Is this all really OK ? I have no MPE CD's to try it out other than the manauls on CD.
