Titanium is not very expensive at all.  It is in fact fairly "common,"
certainly not as rare as it used to be.  On the other hand, the platinum in
the catalytic converter is more expensive.

I've heard that there is some titanium in the catalytic converter
and that they are therefore valuable "scrap"...
