Well, I would try to do a PRINT or COPY on that file and see what comes up.
I would make sure the volumeset is up. I would look at the source code and
see what variable is in fact printed there.

Can you post the whole listf,3 of the file?

I've already tried that even listf,3. But then there is no accessor for
that file.
Thanks!

I'll stick with my prior answer. You may want to do a listf,8 on the
file
and see who has it opened.

Hi,
Sorry... That must have been "9]" and not "9" only.
This is a Cobol program.
This doesn't happen before but then when I tried this today, the issue
happens.
This is a snapshot of what I'm having:
...
...
Error opening CONFIG-FILE status is 9]
...
...
That file is important in the program so it is coded in the way that
when error in opening that file is encountered, program should "stop
run".
That's why I really need to know why all of a sudden I'm encountering
this now. Could this be a "corrupt file" issue?
Thanks a lot for the help! =)

We need a little more info. Is this coming from a program? What
language
is it in? A file system error 9 is an error in FOPEN specifying an
invalid
file type in the FOPTIONS.
Need more info.
