For Audit compliance you "may" have wanted to keep the box and data all
there for about 10 years or so.

Power up the system when the Auditors (or law enforcement) shows up and
make sure the IP hasn't been re-used.  Don't lose the passwords, either.

We keep a DEC Alpha in a corner for the same reason with a discard
sticker on it that says "Discard after March 31, 2014."  (Along with a
set of tapes with the same date.)

Of course if you had an overly large box you may want to disregard my
idea.
