Opera is small and fast. Good choice. But Firefox with extensions is by
far the innovation leader! Nothing is even close, and most people don't
even have the time it would take to try the hundreds of extensions
available. Fairly easy to create your own custom extensions also.

If you have an old machine with limited memory and want speed, use Opera.

If you have a recent machine, want incredible functionality that is totally
customizable, get Firefox! The latest version of Ubuntu pre-installs a
package called "nspluginwrapper" which allows 32bit Netscape for Windows
drivers to run on Linux. Especially handy for getting Adobe's Flash player
which does not yet have a 64bit version for any platform, to work on 64bit
Firefox on 64bit Linux (take that MS serfs! ;-) LOL! ).

for your Office needs, just install OpenOffice www.openoffice.org works

Excellent idea!
