Fellow listers,

Over the weekend three of the LDEVs in a model 20 disc array showed BUSY when I did a DSTAT listing but it wasn't always three, sometimes only two showed BUSY. And the I/O to the volume set on the arrays appeared to be hung or the datasets were not accessable as several report jobs and a backup had been hung for hours. All problem drives were on the same service processer in the array. However, there were no error lights on any of the drives. At least three mirror pairs of discs appeared to be rebuilding.
After a start no recovery, the problem discs were back on line and I was able to restart and complete all jobs. Note this was the first system restart in 11 1/2 months. This morning everything seems okay except that the drives are showing only a 52% rebuild.
Has anyone seen this problem before and found out what it was?
