Just another thought, maybe completely off mark, but a regular tcp
disconnect can be viewed as a 4 step process (I've never heard of it as
being called a 4-way handshake). The client sends FIN, when the server
processed all data it responds with a FIN, client sends an ACK, which is
followed by a server ACK. This is known as gracefull disconnect and
occurs by default when you close a socket connection on MPE.
As I said, its just a thought.

the background job 'gracefully'....I am blue in the face
explaining...NOPE
don't need to from my end.
Thought I would ask before, I kick in the "HURT" factor on the
unsuspecting
young man who can't spell HP.
