Yeah, I don't think the "carpool" stuff will work for me. The last UTC
colleague I had in my car was Joe Wilferth, and he just started to panic too
much once I got my Galaxie around 110 mph.

Subject: [UTCSTAFF] Parking and going green
My $.02 - Going green and parking.....If we want an incentive to lower the
number of cars on campus, what about designating the close-in lots "carpool
lots"?
At the University of Minnesota (Twin cities campus - also a commuter school
with some dorms) during the 70's (believe me, walking isn't much of an
option in January...) the close-in lots (those which were not reserved for
faculty or staff) were carpool lots - there was a parking attendant, but you
couldn't get in unless there were physically at least three warm bodies in
your vehicle. (Of course, we would cruise around to pick up a couple of
friends when we were in a pickle, but that's just good old Yankee ingenuity
at work...)
Carpool lots and general parking lots were the same price, and used the same
parking tag, but the attendant at the carpool lot checked the body count
before you were allowed in. If you couldn't park in a carpool lot, you
zipped up your parka and hoofed it in from across the railroad tracks!
