Nick I agree with you it is painless and the information you attain is
awesome. I have and will continue to suggest all UTC Staff take
advantage of this great opportunity. My thanks to all involved with this
program-Carol & Burch Oglesby.

I really, really want to recommend Carol's program to all faculty and
staff.
The testing program would cost big bucks if you had it done by your PCP.
The
HHP Department is offering it for FREE, at your convenience, and
everything
takes less than an hour, including the online questionnaire. The results
are
in real time--you're given a printout of everything when you're done,
including cholesterol data. 

The cost: a minimum of time, you need to fast overnight, and they take a
small blood sample from your finger. (It doesn't hurt.)

The reply to our research testing and interventions has been
overwhelming. 
 
If you have been tested already or are scheduled for testing, I will see
you
in the intervention class/classes of your choice next week as scheduled
below. Please bring your Survey ID number with you.  
 
If you would like to be contacted by a personal trainer, please let me
know
and we will call you on Monday or Tuesday to set up an appointment.
 
For those who have not heard...        
 
The HHP Department is offering a variety of physical activity
classes/opportunities this summer and there are no costs!!  Just take a
look
at what we have to offer.  All you have to do is participate in our
research
project regarding health, physical activity and knee strength.  It takes
only 30-40 minutes to complete all testing.  Interested folks can
contact me
via email.  Hurry classes start next week!    
 
Physical Activity Programs

 

Classes will begin on May 7 and continue through August 3.  The
following
programs are available as an incentive for you to continue/begin a
physical
activity program.    

 

Personal Training - 2/weekly - UTC PA Center - your convenience

 

Bellydancing group class - 2/weekly - MW - 5:15-6:00 PM in the PA Center
(room 115 of the arena)

 

Body Conditioning group class - 2/weekly - TT - 5:15-6:00 PM in the PA
Center (room 115 of the arena)

 

Tai Chi group class - 2/weekly - TT - 12:00-12:45 PM in the PA Center
(room
115 of the arena)

 

Walking for fitness group class - 2/weekly - MW - 5:15-6:00 PM meets in
Lansing Court.
