In West Texas, Crabgrass would be highly prized for a number of reasons:
No stickers on it, can tolerate scorching sun and no water, and it'd
have a unique color - green.

Actually, here in South Texas, we consider CrabGrass as the state weed
and
is the base plant to which all weed killers are tested and scored....

in most cases, CrabGrass wins...

No, Tracy, Crabgrass doesn't have anything that'll stick you, so it
couldn't possibly be listed as a Texas state plant.   8-)
