Hi Tracy & Banchard :)
um... Tracy has a good idea... but I seem to remember error 38 and
COBOL file readsy? Any chance you are trying to load from something (like
a tape :) ) with the record layout not matching the record your COBOL
program is expecting?

It has been a long time... but I recall getting an error like that when
I would try and load data into my SRN databases... but it may have been a
different number :) 'cause we all know about my memory! hehe

File System Error 38 seems to indicate you're reading from tape (Tape
Parity Error.)

Hope it isn't a bad tape.

If you're not using tape at all, I don't know.

I would greatly appreciate it. I am not sure if this is a I/O based error
or a MPE O/S based error. It looks like a File system based error.
