how much memory can the 3000 997 with 8 CPU's take? All of my books say 16GB
with MPE 6.5 or better but I want to explore the option of more. I want to
take a 997 to 24GB using 3 of the A3839A carriers and 24 of the A3832A 1GB
memory kits. 

Has anyone ever successfully used more than 16GB in a 997? 

Any info would be appreciated.
