Hello Larry,
I think the problem here is that the network (or any other user initiated
process) should of not been started prior to patchix phase-2.
In my sysstart.pub.sys, the section which is labeled "COOLSTART" does all of
the stream commands to bring up the network. The section labeled "UPDATE"
only does a tellop saying "tellop ** Did an UPDATE **".
When I perform a patchix, I come up from an UPDATE off of the SLT, the
system comes up but does not execute any commands, I then do the patchix
phase-2 steps and then after all is complete I execute the list of commands
under COOLSTART from my SYSSTART.PUB.SYS.
FYI: If you kill off NETCP.NET.SYS, you are probably in for a system
reboot.
FYI2: "Netcontrol stop;net=loop" and "Netcontrol stop;net=lan1" does not
actually stop the network transport... "Netcontrol stop" stops all of the
interfaces and network transport.
The warranty and liability expired as you read this message.
If the above breaks your system, it's yours and you keep both pieces.
Regards,
James Hofmeister
