Hello People

My baptism of fire regarding SENDMAIL continues and it is now functional
(thanks to Steve Cooper for valued assistance).

However this message is apperaing in our log file and whilst I have seen
references to the alias database in various documents retrieved via
internet searched I haven’t come across what to actually do to remedy the
situation.

Therefore I have two questions, when responding PLEASE assuming that I am
clueless so you’ll need to spell things out rather than say ‘do a rebuild’
for example. Also, and I apologise for the naivity of the question, but
does it matter / should it be a concern.

We are on MPE/ix 6.5 pp2 and version 8.1.9 od sendmail (I believe). I
should add that sendmail is only used to issue emails 95% of which are for
in company receipients.

Here is an example of the log extract from which my queries arise.

Oct 13 06:29:54 localhost sendmail[136774381]: alias
database /etc/mail/aliases
.db out of date

Thanks for your time
Paul E
