There were two IIRC, Nungesser and Coli. I believe the first one was an
extremely rare example of a French Ace of World War I. I may have the names
misspelled, but they are pretty close. (Too lazy to check the web.)
I also believe that Amelia was captured by the Japanese and executed as a
supposed spy. Well, that's one theory I read many moons ago.

There was also a strange wreckage of a French plane in the Maine forest
leading to speculation that a Frenchman (forget his name) beat Lindberg by a
few months crossing the Atlantic - the other way...
