One of the nice things about BASIC is that there is no certifying committee, 
saying that one particular version of BASIC is ANSI- or ISO-standard or 
whatever. Every manufacturer's version is different, but every version is also very 
similar to one another.

We converted a great deal of BASIC/V code taken from our HP3000 and converted 
it to Visual BASIC with great ease. If it weren't for just a few 
BASIC/V-isms, the code would have run almost without modification.

Conversion of an enormous amount of code took less than a week.
