Having read of problems with retirement decisions on raven, I suggest that
the administration sponsor an annual meeting of retired faculty members
with those wishing to retire in the near future. No one knows  the ins and
outs of this issue better than those who have had problems with their own
retirement decisions. They could share their successes and horror stories
with those about to take the plunge. In fact, I think it would be a nice
gesture for the administration to provide the facilities and a
complementary lunch for the retired members of our organization for such a
meeting. It would serve to strengthen the bonds built up over the years
between UTC and those that served for so long.
