    Greetings:

        First, an amendment to the schedule of Miss Connie Baskette,
Executive Director of UT Benefits and Retirement, during her visit to our
campus,  She will be here on August 9, speaking during the morning with the
new faculty.  At 1 P. M., she will be available for discussion with those of
the faculty who have questions about benefits‹or who otherwise seek
clarification about retirement issues.  I have requested Holt 124 for this
session,  which I will verify ASAP.  At this moment, the person in charge of
this procedure is out of office.

        Second, she has generously offered  to provide individual
documentation of benefits for those interested.  In order for her to
formulate such an outline, however, she will require your full name; either
your Social Security number or your Personnel Number  which is listed,
incidentally, under  your name on the upper left corner of your pay stub);
under which retirement plan you are covered‹if needed, call Personnel
Services at 4452; your proposed date of retirement; and the birth date of
your beneficiary.

         Should you have other concerns, please let me know.  So far, over
twenty  people have responded by indicating that they intend to‹or hope
to‹attend this session; several others have expressed interest in
understanding more fully how the formulations at retirement are calculated.
