Sorry, just realized I didn't answer your question, and I hate that in
others.

I believe you need to add a "BARDIMM", a sort of font dimm memory card that
enables barcode printing. These don't seem to be all that cheap from what I
can find- several 100$ anyway. There was one site I found on the web that
would sell soft fonts, and you could download a demo to run on windows to
prove it worked, but that's a Windows solution, not what you are looking
for.
Google bardimm and see what you find.
