Apologies on my previous email, I forgot to include some additional details.

The operating system is RELEASE: C.60.00   MPE/iX HP31900 C.16.01.

The share that allows a mapping is described in the smb.conf file as :

[sambadoc]
  comment = Samba doc files (readonly but guest allowed)
  guest ok = yes
  write ok = no
  path = /usr/local/samba/docs

The new share I created is :

[datai]
  guest ok = yes
  write ok = yes
  path = /PROD06/DATAI
  user=MGR.PROD06

Is there anything obviously wrong here?

TIA,

John Dunlop
