It does sound like a speed or maybe parity discrepancy...no manuals for the
600 units? No dip switches visible on them?
For NMMGR, I would start by file equating its printer (nmmgrlst?) to a
suspended printer device, and go in only far enough to select a listing of
all configs. Then text the spool file and search for profiles or DTCs
In ours, one dtc looks like this:
DTC name DTC14 Card number 1
To configure a different card, enter its number then press Config Card. [0]
Port # Ldev Profile Name
0 [90 ] [TR10D96 ]
1 [379 ] [TR10D96 ]
2 [380 ] [TR10D96 ]
3 [381 ] [TR10D96 ]
4 [382 ] [TR10D96 ]
5 [383 ] [TR10D96 ]
6 [384 ] [PR67D96 ]
7 [385 ] [PR18D96 ]
where tr10d96 means term type 10, terminal, speed 96000. PR means printer
etc.
then the profile :-
PATH: DTS.PROFILE.PR18D96
Printer type [18] (18, 21, 22, or 26)
or printer type file name [ ]
Line speed [9600 ] (300, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, or 38400
bps)
Record width [132 ] (1... 2048 bytes)
Modem type [0] (0 - None, 1 - US, 2 - EU, 3 - Five wires,
4 - US inout, 5 - EU inout )
Modem behavior [0] (0 - none, 1 - DCE, 2 - DTE, 3 - DCE high)
Data length/Parity [NONE] (None, Even, Odd, 0's, 1's, 8eve, 8odd)
Number of stop bits [1] (1/2)
Hardware handshaking? [N] (Y/N) Initially spooled? [Y] (Y/N)

Subject: [HP3000-L] LB615 printer assistance
Hello HP List,
We have purchased a used LB615 Dataproducts printer that we're trying
to connect serially (RS232) to our HP3000 A400. It powers up,
appears to be accepting data but prints garbage (mostly question
marks, with lots of line skips).
I have 2 other older LB600 printers working on a similar connection,
all going through a DTC48; tried switching cables and ports - the
'new' one still does not work. It has been suggested that the Baud
rate may be incorrect, or that the printer is configured for
'Parallel' interface rather than serial.
Does anyone know how to configure this printer, maybe with a terminal
hookup? Or how to determine just what its config is? Also - I need
some review on NMMGR - how do I determine what the baud rate/Profile
is for that port? It's been awhile since I had to get into that
program!
Thanks for all and any help,
