Hi all,
I recently tried to move a report (in condensed print) off an HP2300 line printer
and onto an HP laserjet 4.
Obviously the condensed print on the 2300 is done with escape sequences that the
printer understands and the laserjet does not.
When I put it to the laserjet in landscape mode, I get over three quarters of the
page but there are about 50 condensed characters missing off the right hand
margin. My thoughts have now turned to Environment files. I'm thinking that
perhaps if I use an ENV file which I specify in the NPCONFIG file for the
laserjet device, specifying 190 characters, maybe I can get the extra characters
to appear on the laserjet. Is this feasible?
If so, can anyone tell me how to go about specifying an ENV file for 190 characters?
It's been many moons since I did anything with ENV files.
TIA,
John Dunlop
