To all faculty and staff who received a postcard from AT&T about minimum 
long distance fees:

AT&T is instituting a $5 monthly minimum fee for anyone with less than $5 
in monthly long
distance billing in his or her AT&T One Rate Simple plan. If you are like 
me and exclusively use
cellphones and prepaid phone cards for long distance, then you have no need 
for AT&T long
distance service at all.

Call 1-800 222-0300 and ask that your long distance service be terminated. 
You will still be able
to make toll free calls from your phone.

Ask for a confirmation number as proof.

Please forgive the intrusion if this message is not relevant to your phone 
service.
