This was a problem I discussed on the HP3000-L quite some time ago. I was  
asking about exactly the same thing.
 
No matter what, HPMYPROGRAM will always return the name of the MAINLINE,  not 
necessarily the name of the program that called the sub.
 
I eventually ended up having to pass the name value of mainline to sub1,  
sub1 name value to sub2, sub2 name value to sub3 and so on.
 
Never did find a better way of doing it.
