I have the subject problem ongoing when attempting to use MPEX with
QEDIT.  Most of the time it works, some of the time it doesn't.  Usually
on weekends in batch but sometimes during a weekday also.  Once it has
happened to me online.  All it is doing is attempting to invoke Qedit in
a REPEAT statement.  Now "why" would Qedit even *care* about an LDEV is
anybody's guess:
